Every journey begins with a vision. For CHIEFTAIN, that vision has always been to create more than accessories to tell stories through design, celebrate heritage, and bring cultural expression into the modern world. Founded in San Francisco and inspired by a journey from Nigeria to the world, CHIEFTAIN continues to evolve while staying true to the values that shaped its beginning: heritage, identity, craftsmanship, and individuality. As we look toward Spring/Summer 2027, we enter a new chapter of exploration, creativity, and expression.

 

A New Perspective

SS’27 represents a continuation of our journey, one shaped by the past and inspired by the possibilities ahead. Our approach remains rooted in the belief that design should carry meaning. Every shape, texture, color, and detail has a story to tell. From the distinctive CT monogram to the cowrie shell, a historic symbol of wealth, value, and cultural significance, these elements continue to influence the CHIEFTAIN design language.

 

Introducing Shades of Shell

At the heart of this next chapter is Shades of Shell, a new sunglasses collection that brings together contemporary silhouettes and heritage-inspired details. Featuring Onyx, Solace, Ember, and Wave, the collection explores individuality through distinctive frame shapes, considered materials, and signature accents. The cowrie shell takes a central role, reimagined in gold as a defining detail of the collection, a connection between history and modern craftsmanship. Each design reflects our commitment to creating pieces that are expressive, distinctive, and made to be worn with confidence.

 

Beyond the Product

As CHIEFTAIN grows, so does our vision. We continue to explore the relationship between fashion, culture, art, and everyday life, building a brand that celebrates not only what we wear but also the stories, experiences, and communities that shape who we are. SS’27 marks another step toward that vision. Our journey is far from over, and we're excited to share what comes next.
